About

Welcome To Bakers Butchers Ltd, established by Donald Baker in 1981, situated in the vibrant Woolgate shopping centre (with free parking!) in the heart of Witney. Bakers have always been purveyors of top quality local meats and produce, whether it be Buttercross Beef, West Oxfordshire Lamb, Oxfordshire Pork from Woods Farm in Watlington or local honey & Mayfield eggs from just outside Witney.

We started off as a small business with 4 members of staff, growing and flourishing, including several refurbishments along the way, into the 18 strong workforce that we have today, culminating in winning the West Oxfordshire Business Awards 2016 Retailer of The Year.

The majority of our staff have been with us for in excess of 10 years and are ‘Bakers trained’. They are trained to carry on the standards and high quality craftsmanship, and customer service, which is second to none, that we started out with in 1981. Our ethos has always been to supply the best quality meats and produce as possible for the most reasonable price that we can afford.

We cater for both the domestic and catering trade alike, and have been satisfying the carnivorous needs of Witney and its surrounding towns and villages for over 42 years with our fresh local meats, homemade sausages, burgers, faggots and home cooked succulent meats. Our lunchtime baguette trade, from the deli counter, is very popular, whether you’re a shopper or on your lunch break, treat yourselves to a very competitive Bakers lunchtime meal deal, a baguette, packet of crisps and a drink for ONLY £4.50. A testament to our popularity is the queues we have at Christmas, which reflects customers priorities for the most important dinner of the year. They are the longest in Witney!!

If you were to tag a phrase to our business, it would be ‘Big enough to cope, small enough to care’.

Please come and pay us a visit and see what all the fuss is about.
